Gunpowder Falls State Park - Hammerman Area

The Hammerman Area is popular for nesting Bald Eagles and Ospreys, as well as numerous species of duck. Common Goldeneye, Ring-necked Duck, and Bufflehead are common species. The Hammerman Area offers four picnic pavilions, a swimming beach, and food concessions for day-use recreation. There are also fishing, canoe/kayak rentals, and accessible bat houses. There are also a few trails for hiking and kayaking and two short water trails. There is a fee to enter the park, which is determined by vehicle and per person. The park is open all year except for Christmas.

The Hammerman Area is part of Gunpowder Falls State Park, Maryland's largest state park. It features 120 miles of trails, protected state Wildlands, and historic sites. It is open to the public from sunrise to sunset. Dogs are allowed on leashes in undeveloped areas of the park.
